The biggest weak point in a company's IT security? The employee himself. Although the steadily increasing number of cyber-attacks and the associated threats to sensitive and personal data are no secret, insufficient password maintenance is an omnipresent problem. With a two-factor authentication you can close this weak point! Our security specialist ESET offers you exactly the right solution with its secure authentication.

If you use two-factor authentication for the login process, a second element is required in addition to the classic, static password. Because this additional identification factor is dynamic, it acts as an “additional door lock” and compensates for weak passwords. Cyber criminals can no longer gain access to the network by simply guessing the credentials. Phishing traps, identity theft and other dangers that also threaten your corporate customers can be kept to a minimum.

ESET again recognized as the only challenger in the "Gartner Magic Quadrant 2021"

For the second time in a row, our security specialist ESET was named the only "Challenger" in the Gartner Magic Quadrant 2021! ESET's renewed top positioning is based on the "completeness of the vision" and the "ability to implement" in the IT security area. The industry analyst is once again honoring ESET's comprehensive security portfolio - consisting of endpoint protection, 2-factor authentication and mobile security - as well as continuous further development. In particular, young, dynamic companies who shape the market with their vision and problem-solving skills and thus represent the potential industry leaders of tomorrow are honored as “Challengers”.

Gartner is one of the largest industry analysts for IT markets and publishes its “Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms”, one of the most important reports on manufacturers of IT security solutions. It describes the development and growth in the area of endpoint protection and assigns individual companies a specific position that they occupy in this market.

Tips & Tricks: Two-Factor Authentication in MDaemon

The terrifying news about online threats persists: Ransomware is spreading faster and faster, hackers are stealing sensitive data, and accounts are being hacked. It is all the more important for companies to close potential gateways for cyber criminals and secure communication channels. A mail server with a high level of security and effective defense measures offers appropriate protection and is therefore indispensable!

The MDaemon Messaging Server from Alt-N fulfills exactly these requirements and offers users of its WorldClient webmail interface and its remote administration an additional, very effective security measure: two-factor authentication for secure log-in.

We demonstrate the setup of this two-factor authentication, which has been available since version 16 of the MDaemon Messaging Server:

After activation, a time-limited one-time password must be entered in addition to the previous log-in data, which is provided by a suitable code generator, such as the Google Authenticator. This procedure ensures a high level of protection of the account - and thus also of company-critical data - against unwanted access and misuse.
